Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling-Walden University
Kalli Kirkland is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University and her master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.
Kalli works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, substance use challenges, and serious mental illness. Her clinical experience spans outpatient, residential, and community-based settings, where she has supported individuals with diverse backgrounds, diagnoses, and treatment needs. She has experience facilitating both individual and group therapy and is passionate about helping clients build practical skills that support lasting growth and well-being.
Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered interventions. Kalli believes that meaningful change begins with self-awareness, perspective, and the opportunity to feel genuinely heard and understood.
Born and raised in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Kalli values kindness, authentic connection, personal growth, and lifelong learning. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, identifying strengths, and working toward meaningful goals.
Outside of the therapy office, Kalli enjoys cooking, spending time with loved ones, learning new things, and spoiling her three dachshunds. Master of Mental Health Counseling

Anna Blackshear is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida and has been in practice since 2014. Specializing in faith-based counseling, Anna has been a therapist for 10 years and has been with us at FPA since opening in 2015. She enjoys working with military families, moms, and teens.
Anna is a proud mother to irish twins who constantly keep her on her toes. She enjoys musical theater, traveling, camping, the mountains, and loves chips and salsa!

Karah graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Child Development before earning her Master of Social Work (MSW). She specializes in working with people who have experienced complex trauma, including youth impacted by human trafficking and involvement in the child welfare system. Karah is especially skilled at supporting teens and young adults who have spent much of their lives in survival mode and are learning how to feel safe again.
Karah believes therapy should be a steady, empowering space where clients can rebuild their sense of control, strengthen their voice, and begin defining a future that feels truly their own.
Outside of her clinical work, Karah enjoys crocheting, crafting, playing board games, spending time at the beach, and relaxing with her two cats.

Michelle is a Masters of Mental Health Counseling student at National Louis University with plans to graduate this year. Her work with clients is based on encouraging self-compassion while building up self-awareness, teaching different coping skills, and understanding how we relate with others. In her quiet time she enjoys reading, crocheting and knitting, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their three cats.

Tara was born and raised in Northeast Florida. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. While going to college, she worked at Carithers Pediatric Group as the Assistant Scheduling Coordinator for six years. Tara also interned at Florida Psychological Associates for one year while in graduate school. When she is not working with clients, Tara enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and coffee places, shopping, Zumba, and spending quality time with family and friends. Tara is excited to assist and empower clients with their mental health journey.

Kristyn earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from American Military University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, she gained firsthand insight into the mental health challenges faced by service members and veterans. Her experience deepened her understanding of how military culture, identity, and gender expectations shape emotional well-being and influence help-seeking behaviors. She offers active-duty members, veterans, and their families culturally competent, affirming care tailored to the unique demands of military life. Additionally, Kristyn works with adults, late teens, and couples navigating a range of concerns. Her clinical focus includes sex therapy, relationship and intimacy challenges, trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. She is LGBTQ+ inclusive and committed to fostering a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space for clients of all identities and relationship structures. Kristyn holds a certificate in sexology and is passionate about helping individuals and couples feel empowered and confident as they explore their sexuality and deepen connection. Her approach is collaborative, warm, and direct when helpful, integrating evidence-based practices with practical tools to support meaningful growth. Outside of work, she enjoys shark tooth hunting, fitness, traveling, trying new cuisines, and spending time with her two cats, Chad and Mr. D.

Keri is a master’s-level intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Florida, graduating in July 2026, and plans to pursue licensure. She has five years of behavioral health experience, including work with substance use/addictions, crisis interventions, behavioral therapy, eating disorders, chronic health issues, and autism. Keri has two years of experience as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT). She is developing techniques in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic-based therapy, and trauma interventions. Her counseling approach is collaborative and strengths-based, where she uses evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Schema Therapy. She focuses on self-compassion, building coping skills, mindfulness, emotional self-attunement, and creating safety with her clients. Her clinical interests are in PTSD, anixety/depression, personality disorders, relationships, LGBTQ+ affirming care, cultural/diversity issues, women’s concerns, ADHD, chronic pain, and veterans’ care. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, creativity, spending time with loved ones, and learning through research!

Alexandria Knight is a graduate intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University. Alexandria was a military brat and moved around most of her life. Alex went to ten different schools & lived in four different countries throughout her life. Alexandria’s mother is also a therapist, so she grew up in a home that constantly challenged her and led her to also want to get into the profession to help others. She is passionate, dedicated, open-minded and empathetic. She uses a psychodynamic and person-centered approach to truly build collaboration, rapport, and connection with her clients. In her free time, she enjoys anything with water, lifting weights, traveling the world, cooking up new recipes, making coffee, doing astrology birth charts and personality assessments, and petting her cat, Virgo.

Anne Marie is new to the profession, but not to life. Holding positions at Berklee College of Music, London Scandinavian School, and Moonbug Entertainment, she brings nearly three decades of professional and lived experience to her practice. Her clinical work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on psychological flexibility, values clarification, and committed action. Anne Marie is also a trained ADHD coach. She brings playfulness, depth, and practical insight to her work, helping clients of all ages translate self-understanding into meaningful, values-driven change. Outside of FPA, Anne Marie enjoys CrossFit and watching reruns of The Good Place.
