Our team of mental health therapists at FPA is dedicated to helping individuals navigate their emotional and psychological well-being. Led by Kerrie Albert, Director of Military Services and a qualified supervisor, the team offers a diverse range of expertise. Ashley Jacoby and MaryBeth Borreca are both licensed mental health clinicians providing compassionate, tailored care. Michael Gilman, Brooke Rimondi, Maya Williams, and Kelly Goss bring a wealth of experience to their roles as mental health therapists, supporting clients through various challenges. Our team also includes two interns, Kristyn Widger and Donna Clark. Together, this dynamic team is committed to offering personalized and effective mental health support.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Ashley began her educational journey within psychology. Athlete her entire life, Ashley attended Roosevelt University where she played softball. Craving some change and new experiences, Ashley decided to transfer to the University of North Florida where she would earn her bachelors of arts in psychology. Before becoming a registered behavioral technician, Ashley studied abroad in Jamaica, working with special education teachers on applied behavior analysis. Ashley went on to earn her Masters of Science in Mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University. During graduate school, she gained experience running psychosocial rehab for various mental health conditions. Most recently, Ashley became a therapy dog handler, and you can now find her and Chloe assisting clients during the week.
When Ashley is not working with clients, you can find her and Chloe playing fetch on the beach, doing yoga (and puppy yoga), cleaning and organizing, completing crafty projects, redecorating, singing and dancing, or staying busy with friends and family.

Anna Blackshear is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida and has been in practice since 2014. Specializing in faith-based counseling, Anna has been a therapist for 10 years and has been with us at FPA since opening in 2015. She enjoys working with military families, moms, and teens.
Anna is a proud mother to irish twins who constantly keep her on her toes. She enjoys musical theater, traveling, camping, the mountains, and loves chips and salsa!
Karl and his wife retired to Fernandina Beach from Northern Virginia after more than 40 years as Federal civil servants. The thought of playing golf every day sounded too boring, so Karl, motivated by his experiences serving in and working for the U.S. Army, decided to get his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling.
As luck would have it, FPA accepted him as a student intern, and upon graduation Karl began working part-time as a counselor intern at FPA. He gets great satisfaction working with all his clients, especially active-duty military, veterans, and family members.
Kelly Goss graduated in 2024 from Liberty University with a masters of clinical mental health counseling. Kelly has a background working in clinical cancer medical research, which drives her love for evidence-based practice. Kelly understands that no two clients are alike, motivating her enthusiasm for taking a creative therapeutic approach to every client. Kelly’s goal with clients is to harvest their ability to thrive, as opposed to just surviving by tapping into their individual inner strengths.
When Kelly is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Kelly also enjoys going to the beach, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

Kerrie Albert traveled the globe serving in the US Navy, but now calls Nassau County her home. She graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is an active member of numerous organizations supporting community health and wellness efforts. Kerrie has worked in the area of prevention for 11 years, both with a provider agency and as a coalition leader. She now serves the role of Director of Veterans Services and Community Mental Health. She is eager to assist in the growth of her community, Nassau County, in health, economics and education.

MaryBeth completed her master’s in science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Florida in 2021. While pursuing her education, MaryBeth worked extensively with children in a variety of settings, including childcare centers and an after-school program geared toward at-risk youth. Throughout her master’s program, MaryBeth completed her clinical internship working with LGBTQIA+ students at The University of North Florida. This internship allowed for an increase in personal growth and knowledge about a community that holds prominence in MaryBeth’s life. Since beginning at FPA in 2021, MaryBeth has found a passion for helping teen clients navigate life’s struggles and stressors. While she predominantly works with youth, MaryBeth may be seen working with the occasional adult. Outside of work, MaryBeth enjoys fashion, music, pop culture, and her cat, Francisco.

Tara was born and raised in Northeast Florida. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. While going to college, she worked at Carithers Pediatric Group as the Assistant Scheduling Coordinator for six years. Tara also interned at Florida Psychological Associates for one year while in graduate school. When she is not working with clients, Tara enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and coffee places, shopping, Zumba, and spending quality time with family and friends. Tara is excited to assist and empower clients with their mental health journey.
Kristyn Widger is a graduate intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Florida, where she is also earning a certificate in Sexology. As a U.S. Air Force Veteran, she brings a strong sense of dedication, empathy, and professionalism to her clinical work. Her areas of interest include Veteran mental health, human sexuality, anxiety, and depression. While still exploring a specialty, Kristyn is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all clients and considers it a privilege to build meaningful rapport and collaborate throughout the counseling process. Outside of the counseling setting, she enjoys shark teeth hunting, working out, and spending time with her two cats, Chad and Mr. D.

Chalow Austin worked in the hospitality industry for sixteen years prior to making a career transition in 2015 to pursue her passion in psychology and mental health counseling. She graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. During her time at UNF, she engaged in collaborative research that has been presented on the local news and featured in “Think Like a Girl” by Dr. Tracy Alloway. She also engaged in an invaluable undergrad practicum experience here at FPA! She went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Chalow is honored to come alongside and support her clients on their journey to self-discovery and healing while implementing practical and positive techniques that foster empowerment, hope, and wellness.
When she is not seeing clients, Chalow enjoys going to the beach, venturing out in nature, engaging in DIY crafts and projects, reading educational and inspirational books, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Lisa Holloway currently works as director and clinical supervisor for FPA in our Normandy Village location. Lisa graduated from Rollins College with her bachelor’s in psychology and went on to earn her masters in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Since 2001, she has gained experience working as a case manager, therapist or an administrator. Lisa works will clients ranging from as young as 4 years old, to adolescents and adults as well as being skilled in working with the LGBTQA+ community. She is a certified DBT therapist and specializes in play therapy, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Lisa is currently training her dog Sara, a full blood Australian Shepperd to become a therapy assist animal. Sara will join Lisa in the office several times a week and loves to greet clients and visit all her coworkers.
Lisa has lived in Jacksonville for 27 years with her Jax native husband Bill. They have four wonderful grandchildren who luckily live in the area. When able to, Lisa and Bill love to travel, they have been able to travel as far away from Jacksonville as Dubai!

Rachel Miller graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2024 and has been with FPA since August 2024. Rachel has worked primarily with individuals struggling with substance use, and homelessness since 2018. She is excited to be a part of the FPA team to further her passion for her community and career.
Rachel enjoys outdoor activities such as bike riding, longboarding, or traveling to new places. Rachel also loves coffee, in every form, and cherishes her sourdough starter, passed down from her great grandmother.
