Dr. Hayford, FPA’s director of clinical services, is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida and through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). Dr. Hayford graduated from the University of South Florida with her Ph.D in School Psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship with Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Pennsylvania before returning to Florida to complete her postdoctoral residency here at FPA! Dr. Hayford is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults, with each client at the center of their treatment. Dr. Hayford currently conducts psychological evaluations, provides cognitive behavioral therapy, and organizes various social anxiety groups.
When Dr. Hayford is outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her husband and her five cats. Dr. Hayford is a published writer who enjoys creative writing, baking and cooking as well.

Originally from Buffalo, New York Sarah Davis is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Sarah has lived in several states on the east coast but moved to Fernandina Beach in 2018 to be closer to her family. Sarah has many years of experience in Connecticut and Florida working as a school psychologist. She recently served as the co-lead school psychologist for the Nassau County School District. Sarah understands the importance of focusing on the “whole child” to support not only academic growth but social, emotional and behavioral health as well. Mrs. Davis strives to work closely with students and their families to help strengthen support systems while fostering a positive relationship between school, family, and the community.
Outside of the office big time Bills fan, Sarah loves to spend time with her three kids. She also loves plants and cooking for her family and friends.

Dr. Madison Smart-McCarthy is a postdoctoral resident at FPA. She earned her Ph. D in Clinical Psychology from the Virgina Consortium Program in Norfolk, Virgina. Madison has been providing direct clinical care across multiple settings since 2010. She has served as an adjunct psychology professor at a community college for five years and has been a part of the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) study involving efficacy of a vertical therapy platform. Dr. Smart-McCarthy conducts psychological assessments and evaluations for children, adolescents and adults.
When she isn’t working, Madsion enjoys running 5ks around her neighborhood with her dog, she has even completed many ½ and full marathons in the past! Madison also loves gardening and watching films, she used to even be a part time movie critic blogger! Madison enjoys spending time with her family, they will often take mini vacations, visit museums, attend or watch sporting events, or even play football or baseball at home together.

Dr. Monica Ortiz graduated from California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University with a Ph.D in clinical psychology with a health emphasis. Monica specializes in trauma, Heart-rate variability and active-duty military. Monica has experience working at an HRV Biofeedback clinic, as well as an inpatient mental health facility where she focused on active-duty military members, trauma focused outpatient groups, and individual trauma therapy.
Monica loves spending time with her family, going to antique or thrift stores, and attending craft fairs!

Jessica White is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who was born and raised in Nassau County. Jessica graduated from the University of Florida in 2006 with a Bachelor of Education, and then continued her time at UF to earn her Specialist of Education in School Psychology in 2009. She worked many years as a school psychologist in public schools in Georgia and Florida before gradually making her way home to Nassau County where she worked as a special education teacher. She has been in education and school psychology for over 15 years now. Ms. White has experience evaluating developmental/intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and emotional and behavioral disorders among children. Early intervention and initial evaluations for autism are areas of particular interest for Ms. White.
Ms. White considers it an honor to support her local community and loves spending time with her family, she cherishes the opportunity to homeschool her children.
