At FPA, our team of psychologists provides expert mental health assessments, similar to how physicians handle physical check-ups. Whether you’re seeking to better understand your thoughts and emotions or determine a course of action for your well-being, our psychologists are here to guide you. Led by Dr. Catherine Drew, Director of Clinical Services, the team includes Sarah Davis, a School Psychologist specializing in educational and developmental support, and Dr. Monica Ortiz, a Post-Doctoral Resident offering fresh insights and compassionate care. Together, they offer comprehensive mental health services tailored to your needs.

Master of Science and Specialist of School Psychology, Winthrop University
Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, North Carolina State University
Fernandina Beach, FL
Sarah Davis is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and Licensed School Psychologist through the Florida Department of Health, originally from Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!), who moved to Fernandina Beach in 2018 to be closer to family. She lives in the area with her husband and their three children. Before joining Florida Psychological Associates, Sarah spent many years as a school psychologist in both Connecticut and Florida, most recently serving as co-lead school psychologist for the Nassau County School District. Over the past four years in private practice, she has developed extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations across all areas of disability, including learning disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as evaluations for suspected giftedness. One of Sarah's greatest strengths is her deep familiarity with school-based systems - including IEPs, 504 plans, and eligibility processes - allowing her to bridge the gap between clinical findings and real-world school recommendations in a way that is immediately useful for families and educational teams alike. At the heart of her practice is a commitment to the "whole child" - supporting not only academic growth, but social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Sarah's primary goal is to work closely with students and their families to strengthen support systems and foster a positive relationship between school, family, and community. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her husband, three kids, tending to her plants, and cooking for family and friends.
